Engagement rings are the most essential part of the wedding process. Some grooms-to-be are beating their brains out in order to guess what ring to choose for their beloved one. Others consider it to be a waste of time and simply ask their finance choice. But there is always another question to arise: how much money should be spent on engagement rings.

There is a rule that the ring should cost around two months’ salary. Though nobody knows exactly where did this rule come from, probably from the jewelry and diamond industry itself. But actually it depends on the couple that is getting married. If the groom wants to show what a nice life he can provide to his future wife than he can buy quite an expensive ring. But if the couple is counting every dollar in order to afford the wedding, the honeymoon and other subsequent events, than it would be better to purchase a fairly priced ring.

Some women say that their engagement should be something special – and at that point her future husband shouldn’t hesitate over the price. But others claim that if their fiancée had purchased a pricey ring instead of thinking about paying for the new house or other important things then they would have never get married.

Anyway, the price doesn’t really matters if man and woman love each other. The ring should symbolize the their bond without establishing its price.
